Mathematical Tiling

Mathematical Tiling - Brick Tiles, Brick Slips - Masonry Restoration

Mathematical Tiling

Mathematical Tiling has been used since the Georgian era in the 18th Century. The wonderful thing about mathematical tiling is that it creates a beautifully plumb, level and bonded facade giving it that aesthetically pleasing ‘flat finish’.

Lots of brick tiled buildings will be on a ‘wattle’ structure, which is comprised of layers of thin wooden battens/branches that are woven together. In restoration or modern day brick tiling it’s common place to see wattle replaced completely with new weather treated battens.

Either option of replacing or strengthening existing wattle or completely using new battens is accomplishable for restoring brick tiles.

If the brick tiles are not fit for use because they have cracked, worn down or become too fragile to use safely then replacement brick tiles can be sourced to match.

We also offer the service of resin bonded brick slips, contact us for more information.
